Preparing for the IELTS Interview

Preparing for the IELTS Interview provides an invaluable source of help and practice for students preparing for the IELTS interview. The text covers the wide variety of topics and functions that commonly occur in the oral test, and encourages students to formulate personal plans and opinions on a range of relevant topic areas. Advice is provided throughout on the appropriate language to express those plans and opinions. Each unit of the book includes:

  • communicative practice activities to stimulate student-to-student interaction;
  • homework tasks to provide extension and review work;
  • revision activities to recycle language and topics presented in earlier units;
  • simulated IELTS interview excerpts that illustrate specific skills and functions;
  • word and sentence stress pronunciation exercises.

The book has all 10 lessons. Each lesson begins with practice exercises for each section. In the real exam, candidates take the Listening test first, then Reading, Writing and then Listening and Speaking sections. Since there is no connection between the exercises, you can do it in any order you want. After each exercise is the answer including the answers and notes. All answers for the practice and the content of the listening sections are located at the end of the book.

It is important that for the Reading and Writing sections try to do it within the time limit. That way, you will feel like you are taking the real test under time pressure. In the Listening section, the tape can be played only once. Of course, you may want to listen again a second time, but only after you have checked whether you answered right or wrong.

Many of the Speaking test exercises require you to have someone to talk to, if no one learns, you should also try to practice by yourself.

The more lessons that follow, the more likely it is that it will look like a full IELTS test, so you should follow the correct sequence of lessons. However, for the skills section, you may need to watch it anytime or you can watch it a second time.

This was our book for today. I hope that you are going to get the best out of it. You can get this IELTS material from the links below. Good Luck!
